The Pieta Amber Flag

The Pieta Amber Flag Initiative recognises the individual efforts of secondary schools, to create healthy, inclusive environments that support mental well-being. In May the Amber Team in Cashel Community School were awarded their first Amber Flag recognising the team’s work this year in the promotion of Positive Mental Health. The team met regularly and undertook a number of initiatives including a celebration of Stand-Up Week in November with BelongTo Youth Services, they also gave all Sixth Years a motivation pack before their pre-exams and decorated our Christmas tree with Happy Christmas written in different languages celebrating our vibrant school community .  They selected motivation phrases weekly for school screens and tutors shared these with their classes.  In April and May the team organised a Culture Day in school and helped organise Pieta House Walks, raising 500 euros for Pieta House. All Second Year and First Year classes completed the Kings Loop  8.5 km in Cashel and a cohort of TY students completed part of St.Declan’s way in Ardmore . The Amber Flag promoting positive mental health flies high outside our school. We are looking forward to next year already. Thank you to school management and all staff , to all the staff who accompanied students on their walks , to  all our students and a big thanks  to our mighty students in the Amber Team . Your positive actions have made a real difference
