Personal Safety02 May 2018
Transition Year students recently completed a workshop on Personal Safety. Alex Walsh is the the Director of Personal Safety Ireland. Alex served as a Metropolitan Police Officer for over 20yrs and has a wealth of experience in delivering programmes such as Personal Safety and Awareness, Conflict Resolution and Assertiveness Skills. The students were made aware of the importance of personal safety within their social environment.
They got advice on how to de-escalate a conflict and learned personal safety skills to help them feel empowered and in control and to deal effectively with a threatening situation. Valuable life skills were learned at this enjoyable interactive workshop. Alex features in this excellent YouTube clip which highlights responsibility for our actions. The clip was made by Leitrim Comhairle na nÓg.
