The CCS first year hurlers travelled to Fermoy last Friday for a challenge game against the local Colaise an Chraoibhin. Cashel got off to the better start with a goal from Conn Bonnar. This was added to by Ciaran Davern’s first goal and a point from Ciaran Quinn, leaving CCS ahead by 2 – 1 to 0 – 1 at the interval. Fermoy, aided by the breeze, secured a goal early in the second half and added two points. Ciaran Davern came to the rescue for CCS with his second goal, followed by points from Jack Burke and Ronan Quinn. Both sides battled hard and fairly, with the Community School boys the deserving three point winners, 3 – 3 to 2 – 3.
