On Sunday the 22nd January, the school’s equestrian enthusiasts along with their Chef D’equipe Ms Reddan, made the early journey to Mill Road Equestrian centre in Thurles to take part in the Hoofprints Interschools Show Jumping Competition.

After completing the course walk at 8.30am, the team consisting of Abbie Guiry on Louis, Amy Butler on Cappaquin King, Chloe Ryan on Kilo and Evan Dwan on Jack, took on the stiff 1m track built by Thomas Ryan of Mill Road. The team had a very credible performance with an overall total of four faults. In the Individual competition, Chloe Ryan finished eighth out of over eighty competitors.

Special mention to the grooms who had the riders and their equine pals there on time and so well turned out. Plans are now being made for a cross country training clinic in preparation for the Interschools Hunter Trials which are being held in March.
