Engineering class visit LIT13 Sep 2011
The Leaving Certificate Engineering class were the very first group to embark on an out-of-school educational trip. On Friday 9th September, accompanied by Mr.Galvin, they travelled to L.I.T. to view the facilities offered by the college. For convenience at L.I.T., the eighteen students were formed into two groups: while one attended a lecture about electronics and the basics of putting an electric circuit together, the other group attended a demonstration on different welding techniques – and even got a chance to give it a try for the first time. After swapping these workshops, the two groups re-joined and attended a lecture on Computer and Design (C.A.D.). They were also given tips on how their Engineering folder should be laid out for the Leaving Cert project. A very worthwhile excursion.
