CCS Students invited to Presidential Inauguration

 At Dublin Castle

On last Friday, a delegation from the Community School attended the inauguration of President Michael D. Higgins. The school had the distinction of being one of just four secondary schools in the entire country to be formally invited to attend this historic event.
After formally taking the Oath of Office, President Higgins met the school Principal, Mr. Morrissey, and Ms. Meagher, co-ordinator of the student council, and greeted the members of the student council. Afterwards, the group were entertained at a reception in Dublin Castle where each member was presented with a beautiful book displaying the history and art decoration of Aras an Uachtarain. The torrential rain that fell in Dublin on the day did not dampen the delegation’s enthusiasm: they will long hold vivid memories of the momentous occasion.
