U15 Rugby22 Nov 2011
On a cold and wet day, Cashel C.S. U15 rugby team took on squads from five other schools in a blitz played at The Abbey grounds in Tipperary Town. Cashel’s first outing saw them up against Abbey `A` – the team that, in advance, were deemed favourites. And so it turned out to be: they were far too strong for the Cashel boys who then went on to push High School, Clonmel, to the limit but they still came out second best. Abbey `B` edged out Cashel in the third game. Mallow proved too hot for CCS to handle but in the final game against Roscrea the Cashel side game their heart and soul to the effort; it was 10 points apiece at half-time and then, in the dying seconds of the game, Aiden Carroll popped over the winning try to give CCS a welcome and well-earned victory.
