T.Ys. on Tour
Last week the Transition Year students were making their own tour of Ireland. On Monday 16th they visited Maynooth where they viewed the Geraldine castle, St. Patrick’s College, the new campus of NUIM, and the very beautiful college chapel. In the course of the day they had a presentation about university life from the head of admissions and heard from two Cashel & Emly seminarians, Dominic Meehan and Vincent Stapleton. The visit ended with the celebration of Mass in one of the student chapels. Accompanying the group were Ms. Caitriona Ryan, Ms. Anne Carey and Fr. Bernie Moloney.
Two days later Mr. Tom O’Meara and Mr. Seamus Carr conducted the intrepid T.Ys. on a mountain walk across part of the Comeraghs. All completed the trek safely (and hungrily) and were glad to see their beds at nightfall. The final outing of the year took place on this past Tuesday 24th, when Ms. Maria Neavyn and Ms. Brid Gleeson oversaw a greatly enjoyed visit to Tramore.
