Kinnane Cup News19 Nov 2012
After registering a fine win over Patrician College, Mallow, in the first round of the Munster colleges Kinnane Cup, Cashel had high hopes of a repeat performance when pitted against Doon C.B.S. in the second round played in Cappawhite on Wednesday 7th November. However, the CCS boys struggled in several sectors of the field and never achieved the fluency of their previous outing. Still, they were staying within range of their opponents but a serious injury to midfielder James Casey just before half-time weakened their challenge. Half-time score: Doon 3 – 4, CCS 1 – 5.
In the third quarter, Cashel upped their game and came within one point of Doon but a goal from a 20 metre free for the Limerick side unhinged the Cashel revival and the C.B.S. team added to their tally to win on a scoreline of 4 – 9 to 1 – 10.
