First Year Camogie

Cashel Community School had a great win in the Munster first year camogie blitz played in Mallow on Wednesday April 18th. The girls did their school proud taking home the trophy after four excellent matches in which they played with great spirit.
In the first game the CCS team played one of the home teams from mallow and emerged with a narrow victory. In the second match the team played St Annes and showed great resilience. Stacey Farrell and Emma Mcloughlin got some great scores.
In the semi final the girls took on Glanmire C.S where Orla O’Dwyer and Katie Rafferty were very impressive and Cashel were the superior team. In the final Cashel went in as underdogs against St Marys of Mallow who had easily won all their games in the other section. Great defending from Laura Connelly, Aoife Gahan and Aoife Crosse ensured the girls only conceded one score and great scores from Leah Price, Roisin Maher and Stacey Farrell ensured a victory on a score line of 3-05 to 0-01.
Well done to the girls who trained hard all year and were deserving winners.
