Dance Champion

Congratulations to Sixth Year student Dayl Cronin who was recently crowned British and Irish Masters 2011 street dance champion. Top performers in this art form from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Norway competed in the finals held in Tralee on 5/6th March. Seventeen-year-old Dayl took his place among thirty in the adult category and came away with the masters’ trophy. Last October, Dayl, a native of Clerihan, together with his dance partner Lucie Fitzgerald, also from Clerihan, won the British and Irish Masters 2010 rock-and-roll title.
Dayl is a familiar figure on stage at CCS in shows and concerts. He aims to make a career in the world of dance. At mid-term he auditioned at the Leicester College of Performing Arts and has secured one of just twenty First Year places on its prestigious four-year degree course, beginning next September. He is wished every success.
