Cashel Community School will be aglow on this coming Friday night, 11th May, for the annual gala Fashion Show in aid of the school’s team of house-builders who will work in South Africa with the Niall Mellon building blitz next November. Six students and two teachers will form the team, and €30,000 is needed to send them. This fashion show is the major fundraiser. Tickets – €20 – at the door or bookable in advance at the school 062-61167.

The event will open on Friday night with a cheese and wine reception 6.45 – 8.00pm. During this period, 20 shops and stalls will offer a wide range of fancy goods such as jewellery, bags, clothes, gifts, sweets, cards (homemade), fine foods and delicacies.

From 8.00 – 10.00pm the models – drawn from students and staff – will take to the catwalk, displaying the latest in fashion:  from Cashel – O’Dwyer’s Drapery, Kilkenny Shop, Golden Threads, O’Dwyer’s Kids, Fashion Express, Uptown Girl, Daverns, Koko, Tesco; Thurles – Stakelum’s Menswear, Bourne, Tipperary GAA Shop, Imps & Elves; Clonmel – Pamela Scott.   

This year’s team of  house-builders: students – Kate Fanning (Cashel/Rosegreen), Cormac O’Donnell (Clerihan/Poulmucka), Miriam Murphy (Boherhalah/Dualla), Conor Moore (Knockavilla/Donaskeigh), Cian Laffey (Cashel/Rosegreen), Roisin Crowe (Knockavilla/Donaskeigh); staff – Caitriona Ryan, Michael Purcell.  All support welcomed.
