Lismore was the venue for the Community School’s senior hurlers’joust with Coláiste Chríost Rí. The Cork city side got off to the better start with two early points. Cashel responded with points from Josh Keane and Killian Loughman. The teams continued to exchange points during an evenly matched first half. Just before half time, Coláiste Chríost Rí got in for a fortuitous goal, to secure a two point advantage at the interval: CCR 1 – 7, Cashel C.S. 0 – 8.

Cashel completely dominated the second half, with great scores coming from James Doyle, Josh Keane and Brendan Ryan. Cashel brought on several strong subs who made a notable contribution to their side’s very strong finish. Final score: Cashel C.S. 1 – 21, Coláiste Chríost Rí 1 – 10. The Community School play Clonakilty today (Wednesday 6th ) and a win here would guarantee them qualification for the quarter-finals.
