CCS qualify for the Tipperary U17B Hurling Semi-Final

Cashel Community School qualified for the Tipperary U17B hurling semi-final with a well-earned victory over Presentation Ballingarry in Boherlahan last Friday March 24th. Ballingarry were first to score and started the brightest, but once CCS settled they took some lovely scores. Aaron Browne scored the first goal, tapping home a rebound, and mid-way through the half Riain Quigley scored a brilliant individual goal. A long range free from Eoghan Connolly, who scored some fantastic points from play and frees, found its way to the net to leave CCS leading at half time 3.9 to 0.8.

Ballingarry dominated the opening 10 minutes of the 2nd half, scoring 1.3 to close the gap. Cashel again responded with lovely points and finished the stronger team. The final score was 3.19 to 1.13, which means Cashel now meet the fancied Scoil Ruain, Kilenaule in the semi final. Chris Geraghty was solid in goals with excellent puckouts. John Ryan, Lorcan Carr and Mark Casey were brilliant in defence, while every player from midfield up got on the scoreboard. A pleasing feature of this win was the performance of the three youngest players, Ben Loughman, Brian Og O Dwyer and Conor O Dwyer.
