Cashel Community School Choir Success

Cashel Community School Feis Maitiu Success!!!
CCS had great success recently at the prestigious Feis Maitiu in Cork recently. The 6th year girls and 1st Yr choir competed separately in 2 competitions. The 6th years won the Cash’s of Cork perpetual trophy for U 19 group singing while the 1st Yrs took second prize in the unison or part songs competition. Both groups were delighted with their success – a first venture into Feis Maitiu!
It was great for the 6th year girls who have given sterling service to so many musical aspects to school life in CCS – a really deserved win there. They sang 2 beautiful pieces -The Seal Lullaby and Cosy Cat Nap which the adjudicator loved –“this performance flowed from beginning to end -magical”
The first years sang the “Road to Cushendall” and “Sally Gardens”. Again the adjudicator commented on the beautiful tone and phrasing of the choir with has huge potential as a group. So as 6th Yrs leave 1st years are ready to take on the mantle – well done to all concerned. A special word to Helen Colbert and John Murray Choral Directors.
